Last week, Edmunds.com held another successful "Hack Days at Edmunds" event that promotes innovation by allowing employees to work on cool and fun projects they are excited about. The number of participants doubled from the eighteen that participated in the inaugural event back in May 2010 to thirty five this time around. The projects were diverse and very creative. They ranged from an iPad game that tests the user's car IQ to a blazing fast bulk loading of our content to the production environments.
The teams definitely delivered and that's with just a day and a half to get their ideas from abstract concept to demonstrable prototype.
Seth Berkowitz, COO at Edmunds.com, gave the kick-off keynote on Wednesday, April 6th, and David McPherson, VP of Product and Marketing at Gifts.com, gave the closing keynote on Friday, April 8th.
